ANEMONE GEYSER is actually two vents in one geyser or perhaps two separate, but closely connected geysers. “Big Anemone” is the one closest to the boardwalk and is, naturally, larger. “Little Anemone” sits farther away from the boardwalk and is smaller. These two play like siblings – sometimes nicely taking turns, and at other times one will take over and not let the other have a turn (or much of a turn), and then at times they play together. This is an excellent geyser to show typical geyser behavior as within a few minutes, you can watch the vent(s) fill, erupt and drain (Big is the one that drains back into itself, sounding very much like a bathtub drain). Definitely worth the wait for this fun smaller geyser. Big has a interval of 7-20 minutes, a duration of 25-50 seconds, and reaches a height of around 9 feet. Little Anemone has intervals of 2-25 minutes, durations of 1-10 minutes, and reaches a height of about 4 feet.

WATCH FOR: Water rising in either vent – you may hear it before you see it. It will pulse and then start to splash.
